# Adding Proposals

Before submitting an on-chain proposal, you will need to submit the proposal on the Mars forum for discussion. Look over the [Mars Improvement Proposal](broken://pages/cYXIGJn5fzWGDfReivms) templates and risks frameworks for more information.

You will need a Title, Description, and a Link to the Astroport Forum discussion. You can also add an optional message that takes a target contract address and a binary message.

Submitting a proposal for on-chain voting requires a deposit of 100,000 MARS. Select "Submit" to move forward. You will be prompted to confirm the transaction using your TerraStation wallet.

### Step 5: Congratulations! You just submitted an on-chain proposal!
