# Supported Assets

## maAssets

**maAssets** represents your pool share of a specific pool in the Mars Protocol. Users receive maAssets when in exchange for depositing funds in a credit protocol pool created on the Mars ecosystem. An maAsset can be redeemed for the underlying asset at any time assuming the asset utilization is less than 100%. Note that:

* maAssets are yield-generating assets as they accrue interest from borrowers over time.
* maAssets are transferrable.

## At Launch

Mars Protocol currently supports ANC, LUNA, and UST for lending and borrowing in the credit protocol.

## Addition of Assets

Martian Council members, aka xMARS holders, will be able to propose the addition of a new asset and initiate an on-chain voting for it to be added to the protocol.

Any new assets must meet the requirements of the Red Bank Asset Listing Framework.
